Newcastle bosses are reportedly preparing to buy him out of the final two years of his contract, with only a turnaround in fortunes saving him from being axed.

Without the likes of Kalyn Ponga, Fletcher Sharpe, Dylan Lucas and Adam Elliott, O’Brien will be desperate for his side to end a two-game losing streak.
